Feature definition:

Water formation on the earth's surface (or below it), which is characterized by a permanent or temporary movement of water in a streambed in the direction of the total slope of the terrain and which is fed from its own basin or from another water formation. These are waters permanently (or occasionally) flowing between the banks either in a natural streambed (or modified) - e.g. rivers and streams, or in an artificial streambed - e.g. canals, water canals and water drives.
